by Erin on Mar.12, 2010, under About Fans, By Fans, For Fans, Twitterings

Hooray!  It’s finally time for this week’s Reaction Edition of Tweets O’ the Day!  What an amazing episode!  This week I’m going to start off with one person’s tweets posted while she was watching, near the end of the episode, in the X verse.  My very good friend and (I promise, entirely coincidentally) Birthday Woman @YaGottaBKiddnMe has hoped for a long time that Ben is actually good, but he always disappoints.  This week her hopes were once again up…

Jamie YaGottaBKiddnMe – Tell me he didn’t. Tell me he didn’t. Tell me he didn’t!!!!!! Tell me he didn’t!!!!!! BEN!!!! #lost 6:55 PM Mar 9th

Jamie YaGottaBKiddnMe  – Ohhh thank goodness. I’m gonna have a heart attack with this episode!! Up down fear terror don’t YES holy frak I need a doctor. #lost 6:55 PM Mar 9th

Jamie YaGottaBKiddnMe – *Clear!!* 6:56 PM Mar 9th

Jamie YaGottaBKiddnMe – I can’t stop grinning, or laughing!!! Oh wait what the hell!!!! WHAT???????? #lost 6:59 PM Mar 9th

Yes, quite the nice little surprise at the end for those of us who are spoiler free!  Now on to the post-episode reactions, in (mostly) no particular order:

New Geronimo Jack’s Beard Podcast Up!

by Erin on Feb.10, 2010, under Analysis, By Fans, For Fans, Pictures, Podcast

Wow there is a GREAT amount of info on Jorge Garcia and Beth’s new podcast!  They don’t know what’s really going to happen, but they have some great theories and give out some kinda spoilery info on the script and the centrics.  Great new theme song, much longer than the first podcast (42 minutes).  Also some great photos from the temple set.  Really great, check it out here and follow on Twitter here .

LOSTblog.com Exclusive Artist Interview: Timothy Doyle

by Jacob on Jan.18, 2010, under About Fans, Artist Interviews

From DamonCarltonandAPolarBear.com :

In celebration of LOST’s final season and as a project of fan appreciation, 16 top designers and artists, who are also fans of the show, were commissioned to create artwork celebrating one of the series’ most memorable, and unforgettable, “water cooler” moments. This ultimate “fan art” was then turned into labor intensive, hand-pulled screen prints, limited to an edition of just 300, with less than 200 available to the public through our websites. Each beautiful poster tells its own different story, allowing the fan to relive memorable and influential moments in an artistic manner, as the show’s storied run comes to a close. Once this limited edition print has sold out, they will never be printed again. Celebrate the fandom, community and family created by one of televisions’ greatest shows by hanging a little part of it’s history, inspiration and influence on your wall.

Now that all 16 of the prints have been released, Lost Blog has set out to interview each of the respective artists. All these talented artists have different influences, different backgrounds, and accordingly…different takes on our favorite show. Over the next few weeks we will post our interviews with these incredible talents. Enjoy.

LOST – What Could Have Been

by QuothTheRavings on Jul.17, 2009, under Featured, Lost News & Analysis, LostBlog Exclusives

In a world where the planning and casting of Lost happened exactly as the producers had planned, Yunjin Kim (who plays Sun) would have been cast as Kate. Kate would have been the main character throughout the series and would have been more like the character we know as Rose. Jack, who was originally written to be played by Michael Keaton, would have died in the pilot, and because Yunjin Kim’s audition is what made the producers create the characters of Sun and Jin, neither character would be included in the show. Sayid was not in the original script, either. Dominic Monaghan (who we know as Charlie) and Jorge Garcia (Hurley) both auditioned to be Sawyer, a suit-wearing con man, though the characters of Charlie and Hurley were created specifically for the actors. The producers liked Josh Halloway’s edge (according to Wikipedia he “kicked a chair when he forgot his lines and got angry in the audition”).

Locke and Michael were written with their respective actors in mind, however Ben (Michael Emerson) was supposed to appear in only three episodes. His role was extended due to his acting skill and, possibly, because of the way his character developed. Charlotte, played by Rebecca Mader, was supposed to be in only eight episodes of season 4 but her contract was extended, as well. As for why so many characters were added or kept around for longer than intended, series executive producer Bryan Burk has been quoted as saying, “You can have more interactions between characters and create more diverse characters, more back stories, more love triangles.”

WFTB – S2E4 Everybody Hates Hugo – TweetUp Transcript

by Jon on Jul.16, 2009, under LOST_WFTB, LostBlog Exclusives

s2e04_hurley_milk_cartonEverybody loves Hurley, it seems to be a universal amongst fans that the character of Hurley is cherished. He’s often used as the voice of the audience, the moral center of the decisions. This episode twists that around, and shows a bit of Hugo’s worries as he’s confronted with a virtual windfall of inventorying all the food storage in the hatch. That’s contrasted with Hugo’s real life worries after winning the lottery with the numbers 4-8-15-16-23-42. He thinks everyone is gonna hate him. Read on through our conversation as we dissect this episode. Lot’s of good comments at the end. Remember you can also join in on the twitter fun just search #wftb for more conversations.

Namaste and enjoy.

WFTB – S1E18 Numbers – Live TweetUp Transcript

by Jon on Jun.22, 2009, under Featured, LOST_WFTB, Lost News & Analysis

Can I just say this one thing: I. Love. Hurley. Total man-crush on the dude-spewing dude. He is the voice of the audience on the crazy island and also the moral center for the troop of survivors. He’s often a bystander, but when he takes action, he takes it decisively. And this is the episode where we begin to uncurl the awesomeness of Hurley (aka Hugo Reyes). We also get the first peek or the mind-scrambling question of ‘The Numbers’. What do they mean, why are they EVERYWHERE. Get your easter basket and dive in with us for an easter egg hunt in this episode of LOST.
