Only we won’t do it on Twitter.  Which is on the one hand, sad. On the other hand supercool.

We can’t do a episode re-watch on Wednesday on Twitter, because non-US tweeps would tar and feather us for spoiling them when they haven’t been able to see a broadcast.  So we’ll have to move it off twitter.

The supercool part is we’ll be hosting it in our own chatroom.  You can access it one of two ways, right from the blog at http://lostblog.com/lostchat or from the chatroll site at http://chatroll.com/lostblog

The chat room will also be open for ad-hoc meet-ups to talk lost topics or any topics in a more real-time manner than twitter.

The time for the re-watches will be 9PM CST on Wednesday’s.  So keep a copy of the previous night’s episode queued on your DVR.  I’m not sure how fast the previous night’s episodes will make it on Hulu, ABC.com or iTunes, but those might be quick enough.

This is the last week for the haitus long Twitter based re-watch project started here at LOSTblog.com back in May.  Over the past eight months, a group of “die-hard, hard-core, annoying” LOST fans have been re-watching all the episodes of LOST since the very beginning.  We’ve used the hashtag #WFTB which stands for “Watching From The Beginning” and have annoyed all of our followers with endless twitterings about Locke/Flocke, Good/Bad, Black/White, AnaLucia Hate/Love.

It’s been entertaining, and speaking personally, has made the haitus sort of fly by.  (My wife and kids might tell you differently with me hogging the HDTV Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.  But Monday night we hit our 100th episode of LOST with The Variable.  And Friday will be a 2 hour long Season 5 Finale session for The Incident.  Then WFTB will be over. 

So, with the end of it looming, the rest of the tweeps have forced my hand (okay it was my idea, sorta) and we will be having weekly re-watches, named approriately “We Re-Watch Wednesdays” (#WRWW).  Starting the first Wednesday at 9PM CST we will continue to annoy and bother all our non-LOST fan followers with a re-hash of the previous night’s episodes.  No DVDs this time, so we’ll be depending on our DVRs (or alternative episodes) to feed our eyes and ears, as our fingers type madly away.

I had to miss this tweet-up because of a prior commitment, but I’m really glad to see the WFTB just keeps on rolling.  And thanks to y’all I’m not feeling all alone on a beach hauling rocks in vain.  You tweeps just keep on keeping on.  This is the only Rose & Bernard flashback we get, I think.  I think their arc is fairly well wrapped up in the final scene of this episode, then in the Season 5 finale where they’re at peace at living together on the island.  To them it didn’t matter that they were no longer in the right time, they were in the place, and that was all that mattered.  While Jack and Kate.. well they still have some work to do.

Fire + Water is a pretty wacky episode, listed as one of the top 5 shark jumping moments on the show according to one blog (Notably absent in the list is the episode featuring the shark) and an early hiatus for a popular podcast (see the tweets from @hawaii) Before I digress into a blob of metaness, let me say that this episode appears to be more revealing after a re-watch. First of all, in context, this episode is all setup to the next episode The Long Con. But it also has its fare share of a longer con foreshadowing. The first scene with images of John the Baptist, and baptism, foreshadow the struggle Charlie has with his dreams, and the importance of Aaron (which is still to come in many fan’s mind). But his mother also says “play the music Charlie, save us”, which is a big ol’ foreshadow to what Charlie does in the Looking Glass station. This episode also shows a change in Locke, who for the first time gets physical with another person. Locke may have his anger management issues, but he’s never been the violent sort. Enjoyable re-watch, though still kinda weird, enjoy reading the tweets.

Short and sweet intro to this episode, since I had a real-life engagement I wasn’t here to tweet this episode. But you all everybody still did, and looks like you had a good time. The jist of the epi is that Michael was infected by a computer virus from chatting all night on irc.dharma.net (the hatch computer’s virus protection got ruined when Desmond shot it) and ends up knocking out Locke, stealing a gun, threatening Jack, locking them both in the armory and high tailing it north (though not to Alaska). Sawyer release Jack, and together with Locke they form a posse to retrieve Mike (good thing they have weapons now, to protect themselves against the trees). Kate is told to stay behind, so she does the exact opposite and ends up getting picked up by Mr. Friendly’s crew as they confront Jack and tell him not to ‘cross the line’. Pft, Jack’s all about line crossing, just axe his Dad, and his soon to be ex-wife (in the flashback). Ennyhow, here’s the tweets.

Enjoyed the Live TweetUp last night immensely. You can never predict how these things will go. With the deep story of The 23rd Psalm I was thinking it was going to be a deep discussion of redemption and Eko’s haunted past. Instead it became somewhat like an zany episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000 as we snarked about Micheal’s blooming chat addiction, and Charlie recurring smack addiction. That said, this is an awesome episode, and makes the list of “we need to watch that again” episodes (and the Darlton DVD commentary is awesome). See what we tweeted about, and add your own thoughts in the comments.

This episode does have its heavy moments, and some recurring themes kick off here as well. The Eko Nigerian backstory is captivating. His tortured tour of this brother’s tragic death scene. The spiraling vortex of the to be revealed Pearl Station, a question mark to be revealed later. Michael continues to try to figure out a way to communicate with Walt, even if it means compromising button pushing. Locke teaches Michael how to shoot a rifle. Charlie and Claire have a spat since Charlie is being dragged back into the siren song of the heroin stuffed Mary statues. Sawyer gets his haircut by Kate, and Hurley meets and helps Libby out with her shelter. And in the final moments of the episode, we see and hear Psalm 23 played out as Ana Lucia gets served a meal by the happy (for now) couple of Jin and Sun.

What Kate did is soooooo horrific that it’s hard to recount on a family blog. So I’ll have to beat around the bush, and reveal to you that Kate … *big sigh* admitted that she has feelings for Sawyer. *pauses to let that sink in* It’ll be okay, y’all, we still got a snippet of Jatey goodness when Kate full on smooched Jack in the woods, but then left him there. *beat* All sorts of other wild things happened as we start down the road that leads to the season 2 finale. Michael and Eko watch the indoctrination film. Eko shows Locke a lost reel of film hidden in his old boook, and Michael is so intent on early 80s computer network design he misses the part that communicating on the hatch computer could blow up the whold wide world! So read through the tweets, and holla if we missed anything. The comments are enabled for a reason, so hit it.

Also, you might be reading this saying to yourself: “This WFTB stuff seems neat, but I’ll never catchup to y’all. I’ll just have to be content to live vicariously through the transcripts…”

I’m combining two tweetup’s in one post, since I was in the middle of vacation, Wednesday’s Live TweetUp for The Other 48 Days (S2E7) was a little sparse. Things picked up again for Collision (S2E8) as the traction for the second season story arcs gain traction, and start down their winding paths. We’ve reunited, tragically, all known, non-captured, survivors of Oceanic flight 815 back at our familiar beach. Eko’s already gotten first read of Jack and Locke. Ana Lucia has made a non-apology apology to Sayid for gunning down Shannon (honestly I’m not that torn up about Shannon’s demise… though I mourn for Smokies lack of a meal) Lots of good tweets for Collision, as we debate #anahate, versus #analove.

I didn’t realize that this episode was called Abanonded, until after I missed the Live TweetUp. Apropos, no? Yep, I missed the tweet-up, my family is in the midst of a staycation, so I’ve got plans. The best part of WFTB though is it’s not dependent on one person, as everyone still carried on without me. I did watch the episode later so the thumbnail synopsis…

Shannon is abandoned in her back story from the death of her father, her evil step mom (mother to Booth) practically disowned her. Vincent was abandoned by Walt and placed in Shannon’s care. Shannon, has seen a dripping wet Walt roaming the jungle, so she has trekked out into the jungle (with lovesick Sayid on her heels) to find Walt and make everything right in the world. The Tailies have felt a bit abandoned by the Fugies, so they’ve headed off on a cross-island trek (with Michael, Jin and Sawyer in tow) to reunite with the other Oceanic survivors. Only Sawyer’s arm is wanting to be abandoned after the gunshot from Mr. Friendly’s crew, and he’s in bad shape. Finally in the final minutes of the episode, Cindy abandons the Tailies (something about Ana Lucia getting all up in her grill or something) and leads them to a collision with Shannon…

Friday night was another Watch from the Beginning tweet up, this time for s2e5 …and Found. A Jin and Sun centric flashback that reveals that they come from very different backgrounds, Sun a rich heiress looking for love, and Jin trying to work himself out of a lower caste. The on-island drama has two strands, both involve looking for something, Sun is looking for a lost wedding ring, and Jin and Eko team up to look for Michael, who went off alone to look for Walt. Finding Walt will have to wait until later in the season, though. Ana Lucia’s crew is off on a trek (leaving Jin in Eko’s able hands) to find the other survivors of Oceanic 815, so a whole lotta looking, and some …and finding.
